Britax Boulevard: A Consumer Review
Britax USA recently came up with the Click and Safe feature, which is present in their Britax Boulevard Convertible car seat. This new technology is made to address the common worry among parents on whether they have adjusted the harness of the car seat securely. The Click and Safe feature is very simple; you hear the click, it means that the harness is snug enough to keep your child in place.
The key features of the Britax Boulevard are the following:
- True Side Impact Protection (TSIP) - protects your child better from impact by distributing the crash forces, shielding the body from vehicle intrusion and lessens your baby’s side-to-head movement
- Energy-Absorbing Base - it absorbs strong impact by deforming in the event of a crash
- Small Contoured Base - makes sure that the car seat is installed tightly in all kinds of vehicles
- No Re-thread Harness Adjustment - allows the height of the harness to be adjusted without having to re-thread the straps
- Convenient Harness Holders - keeps the straps in place and out of your way while you place your baby in the car seat
- Premium Push-Button Lower LATCH Connectors - allows you to install the car seat quickly and easily
- Patented, Energy-Absorbing Versa-Tether - minimizes forward movement of your baby in the event of a crash with the staged-release tether webbing, which secures the top part of the seat at two points
The Britax Boulevard also has Plush, Premium cover set with matching belly pad and Infant Body Pillow, which adds to the comfort of the seat.
The Britax Boulevard is known as the cousin of another Britax bestseller, the Britax Marathon. The two car seats are of the same size, but the Boulevard outshines the Marathon with its high-end side-impact features. The TSIP provides better protection for your baby with its head support and deep side walls. The Britax Boulevard exhibits immense improvement from the original side impact system present in the Britax Wizard, which was quickly discontinued. The Wizard’s system was considered as too obtrusive; it was so close to the child head. The new system present in the Britax Boulevard has recreated side wings that are positioned conveniently without getting in the way, providing excellent neck support without being too claustrophobic.
The multi-position head rest is another great feature of the Britax Boulevard. This is inherited from an old model, the Britax Advantage. It provides easier adjustment with the height of the head rest because you do not have to remove the seat from its position and you do not have to unhook the straps. The Britax Boulevard also provides better fit for newborns with its removable body pillow, which ensures a snugger fit while in the rear-facing position.
The Britax Boulevard offers bigger room for your baby, just like the Britax Marathon. However, you may have a problem with this if you are using a small car. You may have difficulties in installing it as a rear-facing seat; you may have to do some adjustments on the passenger seat.
